If you’re looking to help out, you might consider Operation School Bell, located in the Orange Circle. It’s hosted by the Assistance League of Orange every week, and helps get underprivileged children of Orange fitted for school uniforms, along with providing them school supplies that are critical to their success as students.
Here’s what Annaliese Baker, who volunteers with Operation School Bell, had to say about her experience:
“Operation School Bell has been such an impactful experience on my life because not only does it allow me to give back to the community but it opened my eyes to some of the many challenges that children face.
“While it may seem like such a simple thing, providing a child with the mandatory uniform and supplies gives them the opportunity to achieve academic success. One of the little boys that I worked with, Javier, was in third grade and together we picked out his first backpack. I can't even imagine where I would be if I didn't have a backpack for school.”
