Being in a long distance relationship can be emotionally tiring, stressful and tough but it can also bring joy and happiness. A great way to de-stress is through distraction and taking time for yourself.
Here are ideas:
- Go to the beach.
At Chapman, the beach is only 15 minutes away. Take the time to go for a run, walk, or just some time by the ocean. Seeing the rippling of the waves is extremely relaxing and brings peace to many.
- Spend time with friends.
Go out to dinner, coffee or a day trip with your friends. Being around others that care and love you can be extremely comforting.
- Work out.
Let out all that pent up stress, anxiety and anger by going on a run or going to the gym. You’d be surprised how great you feel afterwards. Just think, it may even help you look and feel better about yourself.
- Make time for yourself.
Whether it be getting a pedicure, watching Netflix, or binging on your favorite snacks, it is very important to take time for yourself. Everyone needs those days where they watch the whole first season of a T.V. show or eat a pint or two of Ben & Jerry’s. By allowing yourself some time to indulge, you will feel rejuvenated.
